Shinkansen

Shinkansen by Max Maven is a modern, streamlined take on the classic Cards Across—powerful, direct, and astonishingly deceptive. This effect delivers maximum impact with minimal handling, making it ideal for professionals and hobbyists alike.

The performer places four red‑backed cards cleanly into a spectator’s hands. Across the table or stage, another spectator freely thinks of a card from a small packet of blue‑backed cards. Without any sleight of hand, the thought‑of card vanishes from the blue packet and impossibly appears among the red‑backed cards the first spectator has been holding from the start.

No awkward moves, no complicated setup—just pure, practical elegance from the mind of Max Maven.

Shinkansen works beautifully in close‑up, parlor, and even stage environments. It feels like a blend of mind‑reading and real magic, and the best part: it’s incredibly easy to perform.

A strong, commercial miracle that fits in your pocket and plays big.
